Family History
We are having our James Family Reunion tomorrow and we were asked to bring a family history. I decided to post it.
The Will and Tara Goodrich Family …Daughter of Richard William James
Will and I were married May 15, 2002 in the Salt Lake City Temple. We have three children born by c-section. Cora Faye Goodrich (10/22/03), Jonas James Goodrich (05/05/05), and Ila Jane Goodrich (03/29/07).
We met through Will’s sister Ross in the summer of 2001. She and I were serving at a Chinese Restaurant in Lindon, Utah. I can truly say it was love at first sight. Will would always go a long with me on my adventures and was very open to any of my ideas. We spent a lot of time together and were married the following summer.
Our college years were very stressful. Money was always tight but we seemed to always manage. We lived in 4 different apartments before we bought a town home in Saratoga Springs (2005). I guess we really love our city because in 2007 we bought a home a mile away and stayed here.
I received my Bachelor of Science in History Education in December of 2004 from Utah Valley State College. I taught History for one year in a Boys Treatment Center for the first year. I absolutely loved it and even shed a few tears when I quit so I could be home with Jonas and Cora in 2006.
Will graduated from Paramedic school at Utah Valley State College in the Spring of 2005 and we walked together as graduates just one week before Jonas was born. By October he received a job with Unified Fire Authority as a Firefighter/Paramedic. He is still working there a long with a job in the ER and selling cars as a dealer on the side.
Currently we are looking forward to grass in our front yard and our trip to Canada in the fall. We will be making our first visit to Will’s brother Josh and his wife Karly in September. We love our new home and are enjoying our new neighborhood. Cora is in pre-school and is a great help to me. I am so glad she will still cuddle with me and tell all kinds of wild tales. She is imaginative and a lot of fun to spy on. Jonas is always keeping us laughing with his very energetic, do it yourself personality. He talks a ton and is not intimidated by life’s challenges. Ila is as sweet and happy as a baby can be. She did her first giggle at 21/2 months. She is so easy going and a great joy to be around.
I am very adamant that I attend church right now it keeps me on my toes and ready for life’s challenges. I go alone two Sundays out of six with a 3 year old, 2 year old and 3 month old and it can be very stressful. If feels as if there are too many kids and not enough hands. However, my testimony is strong and I know that my children enjoy primary. I know that Heavenly Father keeps a close eye on my little family and Will and I feel very blessed. I love the gospel and want my family to know it. Heavenly Father truly knows each one of us and is aware of our daily struggles. He answers prayers and loves each one of you. Our daily decisions can affect families for generations; it is my desire that each one my children stay close to the gospel and that they develop their own testimony of Jesus Christ.
